I know many of you are eagerly anticipating my review of tonight's new episode of America Unearthed. I will be working on reviewing the program tonight and tomorrow morning, and as was my practice during season one, I will have my review up around midday tomorrow, December 1. I am not a machine. I can't go faster.
In the meantime, I've already pre-debunked some of the episode's claims in this blog post from November 19, and I've posted in my Library the full text of F. R. A. Glover's England, Remnant of Judah (1861), the British-Israel text that introduced the myth that Jacob's Pillar traveled to Ireland and to Scotland.

I wanted to take a minute to tell you that I really enjoy reading your material. I am actually a student of many of the mysterious, the paranormal, and the alternative.

Dearheart, the world IS full of wonder and mystery. Stop and think about it. I can make light as bright as sunlight in the middle of the night just by walking into my kitchen. I can travel over 3,000 miles in the space of a few HOURS. I can talk to people who are on the exact opposite side of the world from me in real-time and even SEE them. Aren't all of these the same things that are described in ancient myth and legend?

Shucks, there's nothing like being addicted to something that doesn't exist and going on wild goose chases

But people will always be disposed towards the fantastic. It's a problem that goes back to Ancient Greece and beyond. It's not something like an illness, that can be cured, or a problem that can be rehabilitated. If it's in the DNA of the brain, it's beyond control.

Given how much back-and-forth traffic runs from that show to your site and back to that show -- by believers and skeptics -- H2 should probably be sending you tapes of the show prior to air. Then they could capitalize on that traffic somehow.

Watching it on my DVR now. Already I am irritated by the presentation simply because of the overly sensational music.

The Ark of the Covenant is an ancient myth. Plain and simple. Looking for something whose existence has never been proven in the first place is stupidity. Unfortunately, America Unearthed is too hopefully irrational NOT to be popular.

I've watched America Unearthed exactly once, and that was more than enough for me. But I know Scott's demoralizing treatment of Rock Lake is slated to show up sometime this season, and I don't think I can resist that. It looks like I'll be subjecting myself to this academic abortion at least once more.

What a waste of time. The "Ark" episode is devoid of anything resembling factual evidence to support the host's premise that the Ark came to America.

America Unearthed is just showing what history really is. People are just afraid to except the truth. At least Scott Wolter isn't afraid or being led around by the nose of the so-called historians telling you what history should be.
