I know that Robert Schoch was on Joe Rogan’s podcast yesterday afternoon. But that podcast is many hours long, and I had better things to do. Today is my son’s first birthday, and it is also my cat’s tenth birthday. They are having a birthday party today, and I have to go get the cake. As a result, I’m going to take the morning and afternoon off since nobody reads my Friday morning posts on account of Ancient Aliens airing later in the evening. So, in that spirit, you are free to enjoy pictures of my son and my cat.

One year old to about his sixth birthday will be the most awesome years of parenting. Enjoy as much of it as you can. It's all down hill after that.

My children are currently 25, 17, 16 and 8. I currently have a 66.67% chance of being an unhappy grandpappy if someone were to bring me that news.

Don't put your child on the same level as an animal. For now it's harmless, as he won't remember a thing. But do him a favor, and give him his own birthday in the future. Believe me, the cat won't mind.

I am not literally throwing a party for the cat. The cat is getting a treat a new cat toy. I was just trying to be cute.

The only reasonable interpretation of Joe's comments is that the cat, as the senior born, gets the birthday, and your son has to shift to another day. This is the only way to make whole with the cat, on whose birthday you thoughtlessly impinged by having a human on the same day without consulting.

Really? I considered satire as a more reasonable explanation of your remarks than that you were just being asinine. As a long-term, generally reasonable commentator here, I'd figured you were capable of figuring on your own that the cat wasn't getting equal billing. While I'm dismayed to learn the truth, I appreciate your honesty.

Well, I suppose everyone has their push-button issues. I'll tell you a story... which is generally not a good idea here... but here we go. When my first child was born we were told he was allergic to cats. My own father was very concerned over what course of action I might take given the news. You see he knew of a couple who were in a similar predicament when they learned their child was allergic to dogs. Rather than get rid of the dog, they chose to put the child up for adoption. True story.

Only a matter of time until the cat sucks the breath.

I hope everyone, including your cat, have a great day. The ones you share your life with are of the prime importance, everything else pales in comparison.

I do read your Friday morning articles but you've got your priorities in order. Have a happy day. Do one-year olds really come in that size? I'm out of touch.

I think is a hope of the majority of the posters to this blog that Hal will never post anything here again. He is a mean spirited piece of crap.
