Happy Halloween! I’m taking the day off to mark the occasion with my son, who is dressing up as his favorite animal, an owl, this year. In the spirit of the holiday, please enjoy a selection of seasonally appropriate content. The Night of the Living Dead It’s hard to believe that the zombie classic is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. The Devils of Loudun A classic seventeenth-century French case of alleged demonic possession in a nunnery. Sredni Vashtar
A macabre little story about an unexpected form of divine intervention.

The son must be a chip off the old block. Wise the father wise the son. Only a wise child would select an owl. Is not the owl known as wise? And is not the owl the symbol of wisdom? And as the saying goes; he is wise as an old owl. And let us not forget the Goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and her owl.

You tried to be historical critical but you clearly do not understand the Greek.

If you have not seen Ken Russell's THE DEVIL'S highly recommend it. While it is not a true faithful adaptation of The Devil's of Loundun it is wonderfully made.

Alas our neighborhood has turned over and it looks like I'm going to be stuck with four extra bags..despite giving each kid a handful of the "good stuff" (snickers, 3 musketers, M&M bags and Kit Kat).
