Jaime Maussan Displays Fossilized "Aliens" at Mexican Congressional UFO Hearing

Longtime UFO huckster Jaime Maussan showed the Mexican Congress two alleged “fossilized” alien bodies whose “DNA” was one-third “unidentified” in a presentation attended by Mexican and U.S. officials. Maussan claimed the bodies had been recovered near Cusco, Peru and had been carbon-dated to at least 700 years ago. They looked very much like crude clay sculptures of Steven Spielberg’s E.T., and an x-ray showed small bones embedded within them. (Previous, similar fakes were made from the bones of human fetuses and/or animals, some looted from graves; experts identified these fakes as sand-covered paper mâché over animal bones.) The bodies were first publicized in 2017. At the time, the World Congress on Mummy Studies declared them a fraud. Avi Loeb, who told the Telegraph this week that his critics are mostly “bloggers” who aren’t fit to judge him, judged Maussan via video link and requested that scientists be allowed to study the alien bodies, something he hasn’t yet allowed for his own alleged extraterrestrial discovery. The Mexican UFO hearing occurred shortly after Jesse Michels released a multi-hour interview with U.S. UFO “whistleblower” David Grusch, who endorsed various Majestic-12-style conspiracy theories and speculated about a number of Ancient Aliens-style ancient astronaut hypotheses.

I saw this noted in The Independent, which with The Guardian has been giving a disturbing amount of space to all this nonsense. The claim is evidently that there are "eggs" in one of these obvious childish fabrications. Will we ever be free of fraudsters touting this crap for gain? And when these are once again debunked, will the fraudsters ever see any penalty? Perhaps for defrauding the Pentagon and costing us all millions of dollars in wasteful and pointless investigations?

It is essential to note that in 2017, Maussan made similar claims in Peru. However, a report from the country's prosecutor's office concluded that the bodies were "recently manufactured dolls" covered with a mixture of paper and synthetic glue to simulate skin. This report unequivocally asserted that these figures were human-made, not the remains of ancestral aliens. Whether these are the same bodies presented in Mexico remains uncertain.

Adding to the skepticism, Julieta Fierro, a researcher at the Institute of Astronomy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, raised several questions about the researchers' claims. She pointed out that their assertion of university endorsement was false and emphasized the need for more advanced technology to determine the nature of the alleged calcified bodies.

Fierro stated, "Maussan has done many things. He says he has talked to the Virgin of Guadalupe. He told me extraterrestrials do not talk to me like they talk to him because I don't believe in them."

She also found it peculiar that such a significant discovery was extracted from Peru without involving the Peruvian ambassador.

Wow, it's a good thing the Mexis and Perubians straightened this out because I was all ready to believe in tiny space aliens.

Which raises the question, how large does a species have to be to mine a useful quantity of ore? How were they able to get about, gad about without joints? Petrified eyeballs? Whaaaa?

Seems to me that Perubian export controls would not be within the Ambassador's purview.

"It is essential to note that in 2017..." That's a hard NO. It's not essential to note. You're pulling an Ancient Aliens: "You have to wonder blah blah blah..." No, I don't have to wonder, and I refuse to note.

As I kid driving down to Florida each year on vacation we'd stop at the roadside attractions. One was the Ape Farm (still around), where you could wrestle muzzled gorillas and chimps (ironically, the kids got the gorillas, which were gentle as St. Bernards, while the Chimps nearly mauled my dad, who was pretty strong and tough.
At the same site was a drainage pond. A sign advertised "Live Sea Monster" that turned out to be a mass of cut grass and seaweed floating at the bottom. I did get to wrestle real water serpents when the Seminoles taught me to wrestle the alligators. I was still doing it at the Hardrock Casino, where they do shows, until a few years ago.
I think the sea Serpent drowned when the hurricane hit later as it wasn't there our other trips.
