Ancient Aliens pundit Jason Martell is not content merely to threaten lawsuits against me. Martell mass emailed subscribers to his X-Facts.com mailing list to send me hate mail. In so doing, Martell accused me of poor research while simultaneously confusing me with Chris White, the creator of the Ancient Aliens Debunked documentary, with which I am not affiliated. Martell also compared himself to Copernicus and Galileo, suggesting that he is being persecuted for correct ideas. Below is the email Martell sent, conveniently copied by one of his fans in the message history of a nasty piece of hate mail full of vitriolic attacks on my person. All they can do is attack the people calling them names, but no real evidence against the research. I bet others along the way like Galileo, Copernicus also faced idiot comments from people of their time. http://www.jasoncolavito.com/index.html follow on Twitter | friend on Facebook | forward to a friend Copyright © 2013 Xfacts.com, All rights reserved. get the latest information on Ancient Aliens and more.... That looks pretty close to actionable harassment to me. You should have a lawyer look at it.

Well, that escalated quickly. From a single correction comment to death threats in record time. It's really too bad you have to deal with this sort of nonsense, and you have my condolences.

If we can believe the date stamp on the email, he actually asked his fans to start spamming me several hours before he ever contacted me to complain about my article. In other words, he planned a coordinated attack from the get-go.

Good point. I missed the time stamp. The conspiracy thickens. No one will expect the AA Inquisition!

Are you surprised that Martell's reading of the history of Galileo or Copernicus is as superficial and inaccurate as his reading of mythology? He seems to tend to confuse the two.

Not particularly. I'd honestly be surprised if he actually researched it himself in even the most superficial manner. It's a common defense among that entire group, and Mr. Martell is likely parroting back the reference in that same perpetually-cannibalizing manner we see across the board with the AA crowd.

Peeking at Martell`s hilarious website,I almost choked myself to death because of the sheer infantilism. The material presented is the product of a 13 yr old mindset.Nothing remotely original, the usual recycled garbage from yesteryears.

I also recommend an attorney, and the cops, since that kind of harassment is probably criminal in nature, not just civil.

Perhaps we should return the favor by loading up Jason Martell's inbox ([email protected]) with some lengthy, objective criticism of his hypothesis, or should I say beliefs since there is no measurable, predictive, falsifiable conclusions that can be derived from them. The poor design of his website could also benefit from some honest criticism. Just remember to keep it honest, fact-based, and classy.

To be fair, the time stamp is relative to the receiver's time zone. If Martell is on the east coast and sends at 4pm, the reader of the email in California will see it as having been received at 1pm.

You're right. I don't know when the message was actually sent.

OK, this mess just reinforces my thought that this "ancient aliens" crap has become more like a religion to these "believers". The latest crop of their terrible TV shows has shown to me, at least, that they defend their "theories" as a religion. We "must" believe what they tell us. Only "they" have the "real truth" about our distant past.

Go to the police, and then see if you can find a skeptical lawyer who'll do some work pro bone.

Copernicus. Galileo. Martell.

Let me start by saying that what I am about to write is childish and unrelated to Jason Martells lack of research capabilities or lack of logic skills.

Honestly, Jason, I don't know how you keep going with all the crap you get - I'd have retreated a long time ago! I have so much respect for anyone who can keep on ploughing through such hatred and vehemence.
