I have no blog post for you today because, for the second time this year, my boiler failed. This time it began leaking water and apparently has a crack inside that would cost more to repair than replacing the boiler. I spent the entire day yesterday dealing with the boiler failure, which is the second one I have now gone through in five years, across two different houses. When you add that to the broken toilets, dead washing machine, faulty door knobs, and myriad other problems, it makes for a very long and expensive half year of living in this house.

Can it be any more obvious that your house is haunted most likely by past residents who died in the house during some gruesome and unspeakable tragedy (e.g. murder)? You need to hire some ghost hunters or an exorcist to take care of this problem ASAP.

Brah, ever thought about taking an anger management class? Or, is karma something else that is 'beneath' you? In case you've never heard to if, karma -- when the unkind, angry and untruthful words you jab and stab others with in your gossip column come back and stab you.

Oh it is so very sad that a “bestselling author” who just got a 6-figure advance for a new bestselling book has to endure such horror. As you have written you have never had an actual job so this probably seems so unfair and demeaning that you have to put up with something all the many people beneath you routinely deal with.

Did you know that the name of the evil computer HAL in the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey” was created from the letters that precede IBM in the alphabet?

It would be fun if it were a fact. The author denied it.

Not only was the name HAL inspired by IBM, but in the 1990’s, when a new area code was established in Washington State in the area where Microsoft has its headquarters, Bill Gates used his power to have the new area code be designated as 425 which corresponds to the letters HAL on a telephone dial. It was his sneaky way of getting in a subtle jab at IBM!

It also spells "ICK"! According to Gates' authorized biography he was well known for the size of his pornography collection when a student at Harvard.
