I wanted to let you know briefly that I will not likely be posting much for the next week. The publisher of my Legends of the Pyramids has returned the typeset manuscript to me for proofreading and indexing. This is a time-consuming process, and they have given me far less time than comfortable to complete this work while also doing my actual job. Since I need to complete at least 15 pages per day to make the deadline, I will not have time to write blog posts on top of everything else. I hate indexing, but I loathe the idea of hiring an indexer who will charge more money to index the book than I will ever make back in royalties.

I'm looking forward to the book, but man, that sounds tedious. I hope it at least goes smoothly.

There won't be any references to drugs and the pyramids. Despite the evidence.

Professional indexer here. I sympathise with the crappy level of royalties you get, but in my experience authors never do a really good index of their own book, for the same reason they never do a really good proofreading of their own book; they're too close to the text. I end up charging more for "repairing" author indexes than ones I do myself from scratch - it's false economy.

I don't know what your obsession with my window is, but stop it. It is not a stained glass window. It is a regular window that looks directly across the driveway into the neighbors' kitchen. They don't have blinds, so I put faux-stained glass contact paper over the window so the neighbors can't watch us make food. It cost me $25 and 20 minutes of cutting and smoothing.

Anthony G, you are a creep. There’s no compliment in pouring over a person’s photo for details of what their home is like, it’s just creepy.

I like Jason’s new photo, and never noticed the reflections. It is simply a classy, arty and more “modern” pic than the old one. Keep up the great work Jason, ignore the few and the loud.
