The ongoing war in the Middle East has sparked incidents of Antisemitism and Islamophobia as tensions spill over into protests, counterprotests, and acts of violence and hate worldwide. In this volatile environment, the last thing we need is kooky ufologists opining on the “real” origin of Jews. And yet, that’s exactly what we got last night when Richard Hoagland, once famous for claiming to have found alien monuments on the moon and Mars, claimed on his podcast that Antisemitism is the result of the Jews having a special relationship with space aliens that gave them unique scientific knowledge: This is an incredibly timely and important subject, not only in light of the insane “Israeli-Hamas War” currently raging across Gaza, but the simultaneous, unprecedented resurgence of naked hate and violence being directed at ONE people, spreading rapidly again across the United States and the World– I’m sure the similarity to the Nazis’ condemnation of theoretical physics as “Jewish science” is completely coincidental. I would also take issue with Hoagland’s claim to have made an original “discovery.” Hoagland’s claim is far from the first to link Jews to a special relationship with space aliens. Erich von Däniken, history’s most famous ancient astronaut theorist, wrote in Chariots of the Gods that Yahweh was likely a space alien who protected Moses and his people. He also speculated in the 1980s, in Signs of the Gods, that the Jews were the “chosen race” of the space aliens, as an offshoot of the white race created to replaced the “failed” Black race. ![]() Similarly, the far-right French journalist and fundamentalist Catholic Marc Dem published The Lost Tribes from Outer Space in 1974 (English translation, 1977), depicting Jews as the specially designed warrior race created by an alien named Yahweh to colonize and control the world and love him unconditionally, while the rest of humanity was a separate creation of the Elohim who evolved naturally from prehuman species. The evil alien Jews even built Stonehenge: “Were they the unknown people who landed on the west coast of Europe and went inland, marking their passage with pieces of granite and bluestone planted in the soil of Brittany and Wales? If so, megaliths are ancient traces of the unsuccessful attempt of YHWH's armies to make themselves masters of the planet; they are the first history book of the Jews, dating from before the time when their Lord taught them to write and dictated the Bible to them.” According to Dem, Jesus, defying the evil Yahweh, made a “desperate attempt” to stop him, and the Knights Templar remain a “secret militia” carrying out the alien Yahweh’s evil orders. “It is not my intention to give anti-Semitism any support whatsoever,” Dem wrote, before claiming that plain reading of history’s facts simply show that Jews are soulless alien soldiers created to worship an egomaniacal alien. “The Jews come from space, and they will return there,” Dem promises, envisioning a day, no later than “the late twentieth century or, at most, the beginning of the twenty-first,” when all Jews self-deport to the stars in Yahweh’s spaceship. Dem argued that the Jews are great at physics because Yahweh plies them with secret alien knowledge to keep them ahead of the naturally evolved real humans. He concludes that Antisemitism emerged because real earthly humans hate imitation non-humans from outer space. This is also more or less Richard Hoagland’s claim, somewhat reworked and reworded to sound less explicitly Antisemitic.

According to an international student from Nigeria named Steven, "All people were black until an evil scientist created white people".

Some people more than others really seem to put much more emphasis and effort into implementing such philosophy on a global scale.

To even worth trying to rehabilitate such stupidity that is not based on logical reasoning? This is the direction that the world is heading. I remember during the early 1980s when the BBC made a documentary about Flying Saucers it concluded by stating "Don't look at the skies - look at the person next to you that's making the claim."

Honestly shocked this man is still alive. I remember watching Hoagland on 60 Minutes with my grandparents as they were discussing the faces on Mars. One face in the Cydonia Region and another identical face in the Elysium Region. That stuff really sparks the imagination of a young mind. Especially after being introduced to the Ancient Astronaut stuff. Seemingly more plausible at that time than the steaming pile of mess it's morphed into today.

Hello, Jason. Six days ago, I actually listened to that podcast. Not sure if you did too. You indicated you reside in upstate New York. New York is in the Eastern Time Zone. So, if you were at home and not traveling east or west one week ago (unlikely with all these winter storms impeding travel now), then you would have to have listened to the live streamed podcast between midnight and three o' clock in the morning. If not, then you could have listened to the whole podcast at any time of day or night if you paid to subscribe to club 19.5 which seems less likely. Richard Hoagland made no such claims about the origins of Antisemitism. All those claims were made by Richard's guest, Alfred Webre. You wrote about Alfred Webre once before in 2017. Anybody with a computer connected to the internet can listen to the first hour of any recorded and archived episode of Richard Hoagland's podcast The Other Side of Midnight for free. Six days ago, the host and guest did not begin to talk about the origins of Antisemitism until the second and third hours of the podcast when the guest Alfred Webre screamed angrily at the host Richard Hoagland. Alfred Webre accused Richard Hoagland of secretly working for the CIA and the Mighty Alpha Draconian Star Empire. Richard Hoagland laughed at the guest's angry loud accusations. The entire episode was a disaster piece, so bad it was good! Recommend it if you want to listen to an eccentric interview a madman. At one point, the usually quiet engineer and producer Keith Morgan intervened. Some folks consider Richard Hoagland to be rude when he interrupts his guests, but that is just his style. Alfred Webre talked about Andrew Basiago's claims of time travel. Richard Hoagland said he had not thought about Andrew Basiago in years, and there are reasons to suspect Andrew Basiago's stories are not true. The part about the origins of Antisemitism came from a book titled Thiaoouba Prophecy by Michel Desmarquet, a Frenchman who lived in Australia and claimed to have been taken on a ride in a spaceship with tall hermaphrodites in 1987. The book is available to view here.
