This Week's Schedule

Merry Christmas to all those celebrating today! In order to spend more time with my family this holiday season, I will be blogging on a reduced schedule between now and New Year's. Depending on when my son falls asleep, I will review Legends of the Lost either this evening or tomorrow, and I will take most of the week off. This weekend I will post my annual year in review feature, and I intend to resume regular posting in the New Year.

There are two versions due to the celestial observations being made from two separate locations.

The Sun symbolically dies on the Winter Solstice currently December 21st. On the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th the Sun appears to rise in the exact same spot, or symbolically lays dead for three days before beginning to move again.

The same thing occurs at the Summer Solstice. On June 21st the Sun has his head symbolically cut off. On the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th the Sun appears to lay dead. On the 25th the Sun picks up his head and walks again.
