Review of Ancient Aliens S18E11: “Incredible Structures”

​After a long, nearly four-month hiatus, Ancient Aliens returned with “new” episodes, starting with a clip show under the new “On Location” subtitle. This episode presents a series of rerun segments about ancient astronaut theorists’ all-expenses-paid vacations to various structures from around the world that they have repeatedly claimed were inspired or constructed by extraterrestrials. Since all of the material in this episode is repeated from earlier episodes, I have no desire to sit through this again. I will list the structures and link to the original reviews I wrote when they first aired.

The episode opens with Giorgio Tsoukalos giving an introductory speech before throwing to the reruns.
 

1. The Serapeum at Sakkara. A rerun segment from “Earth Station Egypt” about the tombs of the Apis Bulls.
2. The Ishi-no-Hōden of Japan. A rerun segment from “A Spaceship Made of Stone.”
3. Puma Punku. A rerun segment from “The Mysteries of Puma Punku,” including the ridiculous scene where David Childress tries to claim the blocks were cut with incredible precision while his right angle ruler clearly shows a large divergence off true.
4. Nuragic Structures of Sardinia. A rerun segment from “Island of the Giants.”
5. Cyclopean Walls of Ferentino. I don’t remember which 2019 episode this was from, but it was recycled once before in 2020’s “Giants of the Mediterranean.”
6. Surang Tila temple, India. I wasn’t able to identify the 2017/2018 episode that this segment came from. It seems familiar, but being so short (only a couple of minutes), and so free of content (they simply assert that the temple’s structure seems too clever to be human, despite being made of piled stone of fairly obviously human ingenuity), I don’t think I cared enough to note it when it aired the first time.
